When it comes to fashion, few do it better than the Hollywood stars. With the red carpet as their runway, they haven’t disappointed this award season. Here are some of the looks that have shone the brightest so far:

GOLD
Beyoncé looked like the Madonna herself (the biblical one, not the musical artist) as she performed at the Grammy Awards. Her heavily beaded, metallic gold and sheer, nude gown shimmered under the stage lights. Very pregnant (with twins, no less), her rather pronounced “baby bump” was the focal point of her look rather than something to be hidden. A headpiece resembling a golden nimbus topped off the ensemble, making the religious reference that much more explicit. Bold choices, all of them, but the celestial Beyoncé pulled it off … and then some.

Gold was again the co-star on Oscar-winning Emma Stone at the Academy Awards. Layers of fringe gave her Givenchy gown movement and a bit of fun, which reflected the personality of this vivacious actress. By the end of the night, an Oscar trophy served as Emma’s last, but certainly not least, accessory.

Charlize Theron, who co-presented at the Oscars with Shirley MacLaine, also rocked a golden gown (this one a Dior, thank you very much) down the red carpet. A Hollywood take on a Grecian design, the lamé gown struck a pleasing balance between modesty and sexiness.

LONG SLEEVES
Ruth Negga, lead actress in the film Loving, stunned in a high-necked, long-sleeved red gown by Valentino. (Valentino’s signature color is red, of course.) Though Negga was covered head-to-toe, the sheerness of the fabric added just enough allure to keep the look youthful and sexy.

Actress Chrissy Teigen looked almost like a bride (though perhaps a rather daring one) in her all-white gown by Zuhair Murad. Featuring a thigh-high slit, it too had long sleeves, however, which prevented the look from being unseemly. Again a bit of sheer lace tempted the eye.

Amy Adams, star of Nocturnal Animals, combined the two trends in her gold and long-sleeved gown by Tom Ford. The metallic textile appeared molten as the paparrazi’s cameras flashed.

We still have the Country Music Awards (CMAs) and the Tonys, among other biggies, coming up this year. So keep your eyes on that red carpet! (Tip: you may want to wear sunglasses to shield you from the glare of all that sparkle!)
