In addition to learning valuable fashion skills, our department values community. Each semester we host a luncheon for current and potential students to discuss up coming classes and answer any questions that may arise. We work hard to offer contests, open sewing labs, and opportunities to gain valuable skills outside of classes, like those that volunteer for our annual Artistry in Fashion event. In the Spring, we celebrate scholarship winners and graduates at a reception.
In addition, most of our classes end with a potluck celebration where students share yummy food and show off their semester’s accomplishments. It is one of our students’ favorite traditions.
We’re thankful for our students and the community they allow us to foster in the Cañada College and Fashion Design and Merchandising Department.
