Do you know where your clothing comes from? Garment labeling laws require the country of origin be on each piece of apparel. One of our instructors looked to find out where some of her clothing originated.

Her T shirts were made in:

  • China
  • Vietnam
  • Indonesia
  • El Salvador
  • Nicaragua

Her jeans and pants were made in:

  • Bangladesh
  • China
  • India
  • United Arab Emirates
  • Ukraine
  • Dominican Republic
  • Guatemala
  • Vietnam

All together, her wardrobe was made in 11 different countries! After learning where her garments were made, she went on the Internet to discover what the typical garment manufacturing conditions were in each of those countries.

We challenge you to do the same and report back to us, via the comments, to let us know what you have learned!

actually manufactured here, according to the American Apparel and Footwear Association. In 1960, that number was 95%.
